Rinaldo’s words on his ANNIVERSARY Edition
For me, every day, every heartbeat is actually a birthday. This September I was able to celebrate my 44th birthday. A schnapps number that matches our bottlings with 44% vol. and our philosophy with the number eight. A good time to bottle and present an ANNIVERSARI edition.
I like peat and appreciate peaty whiskies. One of my favourites is the classic Lagavulin 16, and a few years ago we managed to buy some used casks from the Lagavulin Distillery. As Distillers Choice for the ANNIVERSARI Edition, I have chosen a peaty whisky that has matured in a Lagavulin cask and in an unused chestnut cask. This ANNIVERSARI Edition also enjoyed a finish in small Pedro Ximénez casks.
On the nose, it has smoke and a lovely nuttiness as well as creamy honey paired with dried orange. Clear, typically peaty notes with espresso and dark chocolate emerge from the background.
We have filled 229 bottles. The bottle is delivered in an elegant, solid oak frame.
